Little sofa cozy time....the sofa isn't actually so tiny, instead the cushions are simply huge. An assortment of vintage linen, patchwork, Ikea and Toast.

Winter workspace. Tiny trees and fake birds and irritatingly entwined lily lights.

1001 Paintings: I adore this reference book. Spent about six hours yesterday curled up with it. The title is a little off-putting, but well worth £10 (I found mine half price at Waterstone's UK)

I am currently enjoying a little creative break. Working up fresh ideas, and plans for new photomontage. I shall also be contributing more works to the Anomalies series, based upon well known paintings (see Whistler's Kitten in the previous post for more details)
I have also been going out a little bit more than usual, catching up with friends, zipping around galleries and enjoying the occasional gig. Winter is when I will generally wake up and come back to life - I shall prepare to hibernate once again at the onset of spring;)
Next week, I plan to visit the Angels of Anarchy exhibition at the Manchester Art Gallery: this one is quite important to me, for it features works from the likes of Frida Kahlo, Francesca Woodman and (oh god I can hardly believe it) Dorothea Tanning.....

Before I go, I should also like to remind would-be customers to check out the seasonal shipping deadlines over at the Art&Ghosts shop. The 10th of December being the ultimate date to ensure the possibility of xmas arrivals.
Back soon!

Hi Lou:
I've just been having a look through your links and found some interesting blogs to look at.
It's been so hard, starting over with a new name and all, so I've been trying to re-link with other artists. I'm having a give-away right now for one of my "rabbit-y" pieces and for a couple of "dog" pieces.
I do hope you enjoy the Angels of Anarchy show. It sounds fabulous. Enjoy your creative break. Although I doubt that you are ever NOT creative in some way.

*GASP*
A Little Night Music has got to be one of my absolute favorite paintings! The only painting, in fact, I've ever wanted to step into. I can almost smell the sunflower, hear its thoughts as it struggles to NOT strangle those girls. And the light! How wonderful is the light in the door?
Now perhaps it is the Aquarian in me, but I tend to come alive during the cold months, as well. There is more possibly for magic, it seems, when the air is not running a fever.

I just love your space! It's so light and cheery. The florals and spots of color and patchwork are so inspiring. It must be so nice to curl up with a good art book on a winters day!
Nice new work too, by the way!

Those plump robins look like they've been over-indulging on chrismas pud : )
The Angels of Anarchy looks excellent. It introduced me to Jane Graverol.
We've had some important retrospectives of women surrealists here in recent years, like the Leonor Fini. I saw a Dorothea Tanning exhibition in London in the late 80s, and have now finally got hold of her huge retrospective album published by George Braziller. It even includes her long lost (stolen) painting, Le Petit Marquis.
Let us know if you see any of Toyen's works there! I look forward to your report on the show : )

Purchased and received my first Art&Ghosts print, and couldn't be happier. It's exquisite. Thanks so much Lou, x PS. Adore your house, wish my fiance wasn't so stubborn about our quota of 'male vs female things' :D
