Crimson Kiss

Based upon a number of dreams, a sort of 'collage' of dreams that could span almost a decade.
The playing cards are taken from my most recent, which involved so much enchantment and trickery. And a boy called Angel, who collected small silver things that would explode into stars whenever he clapped his hands. He wasn't a very nice boy, but he knew how to turn on the glamour.
He could transform one, ordinary pack of playing cards into a hundred thousand tiny replica's in the blink of an eye, which would fall from the sky like confetti. I became drunk on his magic too soon, alas.

Midsummer. Memories and Lace
.
.
Today is the very first day of (our supposed) British Summer time.
The above image has much to do with my own childhood. The pieces of lace are actually taken from an old polaroid print which was taken from my bedroom window at the age of seven. I was, at the time, quite passionately obsessed with Strawberry Shortcake, pine cones, shadows and stupidly tall trees.

Which Dreamed It?

Lunar hares. Darlings of the moon. All three of them.
(And yes, yes, Lewis Carroll)

Enchanted rooms and Rose Moons

An ode to Zephyr, my oldest friend.

So, what have I been doing? I moved out of my home for 3 days whilst the replastering work took place, which was a rather pleasant break for me, to tell the truth, for I caught up on quite a lot of overdue reading. I completed one rather challenging commissioned project, then moved swiftly on to the next. I spent a beautiful afternoon in the country with my family on my mothers birthday. And on returning home, I cleaned up one hell of a lot of dust. That was my week.
There were, of course, some brand new musical adventures:
A Dense Swarm Of Ancient Stars by I Monster

I love LOVE love these crazy people! Been waiting for a new offering since their stunningly wondrous Neveroddoreven nearly 10 yrs ago. I was so delighted to discover this on ITunes last week. My favourite tracks being Lust For A Vampyr, Inzects and Sickly Suite Part 3.

Another new find, Rockettothesky...

Discovered this strangeling little treasure by complete accident this morning. I am simply gone for the song 'Grizzly Man'. You must sneak a preview if only for this track.

And finally, this exquisite offering from Caroline Weeks: Songs for Edna

Her songs literally still me to sleep in the best way imaginable. Soothing, haunting, enigmatic lullabyes. The best sort, surely..
