My contribution to the latest edition of Lula Magazine.......

Again, I hadn't been aware of it having been released, so it was such a treat to find this lovely, colourful rendition over at making a meal's photostream (thankyou!).....

Seems this past month or so has been a pretty good 'magazine month' for weird little me. Things always seem to happen all at once - and once upon a time, of course.

.........................................

I have also almost reached my first 1000 sales over at Etsy.....I am, as we speak, teetering at 999. I kind of like that number, and the 1000 mark denotes a little milestone for me, regardless how ultimately unimportant such silly little counting games actually are. But I would like to thank each and every one of my customers and friends for all of your continued support, truly:)

To celebrate, i have rustled up a gigantic-style stock update and have many more exciting goodies heading for the shop very soon (moo cards, postcard sets, new prints, etc)!

Before I attempt to retreat into some long overdue relaxation, I should like to share some of my favouritest things of recent days.

(top left to bottom right)

1) The adorable LaMaga! This ever so talented and generous artist sent me a most gorgeous surprise parcel this week, containing a variety of her works, postcards, ephemera, etc. Thankyou so much! I recommend that you check out her Etsy shop if you haven't already - a long time favourite of mine:)

2) A vintage teapot. Indeed.

3)Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree. I can't quit listening to this haunting, ethereal, soul-warming album these past few nights. It has become a sort of comfort blanket.

4)My beautifully temptatious cookery bible, Apples for Jam. (basket my own, no idea where it originates from)

1) Angelica. Exquisitely dark tale about a repressed, haunted victorian family. I had to quit half way through and reach for M.R James (!) but oh I do love the Charles Dodgeson Photograph adorning the front cover!

2) Treatzone handprinted Postcards. I cannot bear to use them!

3) Beautiful Sarah Blank pendant. So, so perfect!

4) Cherished Planter Pot Heads, the creations of clayflower22.

Ooohhhh!!! How exciting!!! I'm not surprised by your news at all, you should be published in all the magazines I read, you are a legend! :)

Congratulations on your fabulous etsy sales! wahoo! You totally deserve it!

Congratulations on both. Your work is really inspiring. x

First off, a HUGE HUGE congratulations on your truly stunning contribution to Lulu magazine!! I can't wait until my local bookstore gets the latest issue so I can pick one up for myself. It is truly one of my favorite design/art magazines, and your work is sure to fit in just perfectly!

And a giant congrats on your 1000+ sales on Etsy! You are so talented, and you more than deserve it... I'm certain the next 1000 orders are just around the corner. :)

I also wanted to say a hello and a thanks for stopping by my poor neglected little blog and for your kind words. I have been missing you, and I'm so glad to be back in touch and getting back into the swing of things again. I have lots of blog reading to catch up on, and I can't wait to read about what you've been up to lately. By just briefly doing an "image breeze through" of your last few posts, I'm overwhelmed and so excited to see what you've been working on. I'm off to drool over the artwork now...

Happy Spring! :)

Congrats...you rock, I loooove Lula (although it is expensive here, I never hesitiate to buy it!)
Everything looks so good! You are the most productive person I know. I wish I could steal your productivity! (or duplicate it maybe?) I don't know how you do it.
The photo of the necklace looks so cute, I love it.

Found you through a comment at Sandra Evertson's blog. Your blog name got my attention!
Congrats on the magazine. Going to bookmark you, very intriguing here - I love it.
Off to the local bookstore to order the book if they don't have it in stock. The number 999 is a great one.

Gosh, I am so happy. When I left a comment here the other day (I love your work!) I didn't realize one of the Somerset magazines I had ordered Monday had a portfolio of you in it - yippee!

Can't wait to read.

I saw your work on Somerset and had to drop by! I love art and I am quite spiritual as well. Your work is amazing. I will keep you in my links. I'm off to check out your etsy shop! Sandy:)

Congratulations Louise!!!!!! On so many fronts - the gorgeous magazine, the sales, the new look (stunning) and lovely new work! You are always transmitting such beauty...you make blog land and artland both so delightful. I've been away and must now go through everything I've missed -so nice to see you again!

Wowee wow wow. Lou,how entirely splendiforous. And the new prints are amazing. I really really love them.

Congrats on the Lula magazine. It's too bad they didn't ask for your permission first. And Congrats on being so successful with your etsy business. You really are so talented. I am happy to see you also doing well. Thank you, also, for the Goldfrapp recommendation. I love it.

I just discovered your art in the latest Somerset Studio. BEAUTIFUL artwork & dolls, I love your style!! Will definitely be checking out your Etsy shop in the near future, keep up the awesome work!

Thanks very much for all of your comments!

Jen - There appears to be a little misunderstanding. Lula certainly DID have my permission - we worked together via email and telephone for a number of weeks on this project. I designed the grid, the moths, gave them a selection of works to choose from, and also sent them a childhood photo for the contributors section at the front of the magazine. Both Becky and Leith were a pleasure to work with and were very patient with me over the xmas period when i suffered a lot of delays.

Perhaps i worded it badly....i WAS surprised to see the issue had already been released, but i did know that it was due out February or March sometime.

xxx

Wow that is wonderful about the magazine!
I read Angelica a little while ago, I think the UK as a better cover:)

amazing post, as always :)
